Some weddings are about two people. Nandhini and Vijay's was about four families becoming one.
The flower arrangements weren't just decoration—they were a language. Roses for Nandhini's family (her mother's favorite). Marigolds for Vijay's (tradition and luck). Orange blossoms for the promise of what comes next.
We documented the rituals with reverence. The way Nandhini's grandmother blessed her with shaking hands. The moment Vijay touched the threshold of the family home—not just his home now, but theirs. The first time Nandhini's youngest cousin called him "brother-in-law" and meant it completely.
But the real story was in the hours after the ceremony. When the formal clothes came off and everyone gathered for dinner. When Vijay's father sat with Nandhini's mother for an hour, just talking. When the families became something bigger than separate units—they became a constellation.
We filmed a wedding, but we documented a family being born.
The film opens with that wall of flowers. It closes with the family dinner—three tables pushed together, laughter, seconds at the good curry, cousins debating something inconsequential. It's not cinematic in the traditional sense. It's better. It's real life becoming history.
Tradition, color, ceremony, and love. That's Nandhini and Vijay's wedding. That's where new families begin.
